Most "intermittent failures" aren't black magic. They're just too fast for your scope.
The Agilent DSO90604A:
🔹 6GHz bandwidth
🔹 20GSa/s sampling
🔹 Deep memory that actually catches glitches
One quick test: A 2.5Gbps eye diagram on a 1GHz scope looks closed. On the DSO90604A? Wide open.
You don't need this for I2C or UART. But for PCIe, DDR, SerDes? You can't afford to guess.
